Winnie is a good-sized, neutered, male orange tabby who would make a wonderful family pet! Winnie was a stray that essentially 'adopted' an elderly lady who by her own definition, 'was not a cat person.' Winnie charmed this, 'I only like dogs' woman into taking him into her home and becoming a welcome companion. Lois grew to love Winnie and during the short time she cared for him she did so with great kindness and attention. With access to regular food and water, a bath, regular brushing, and lots of affection, Winnie settled right in to her home and would have loved to stay forever. While staying with Lois, Winnie would regularly spend time with other cats and dogs and got along with them well. He even took regular walks with the neighbor who had a small dog. The dog would be on leash, and Winnie would come along for the company, stay with them for the walk, and return to Lois's after his adventure. Unfortunately, Lois was scheduled to move to New Jersey to live with her daughter and was unable to take a pet with her to those circumstances. During the time that Lois was packing and loading her car, Lois would talk to him, explain what she was doing, and Winnie would accompany her to the car to load boxes, and then back to the house with her to pack more--he is a very smart and loyal boy! As Winnie's foster I find him to be a very sweet and loving cat. He wants to be in the same room with us and sleeps every night with my daughter. Winnie is very smart, and if my daughter forgets to leave her door open at night and Winnie is ready to retire for the evening, he simply opens her door by reaching for the latch and lets himself in! Winnie is quite social and will rise from a nap to greet us when we get home. I just got home from buying groceries for example, saw no sign of him at first, but when he heard me beginning to move around the house, there he was--ready for a head rub and anxious to keep me company while I unloaded! Winnie uses his litter-box faithfully and with one lesson, remembered where the scratching pad is and now uses it all of the time. He has a full set of claws, but only exercises them on that scratching pad. Winnie charmingly enjoys sleeping in little 'forts,' for example, under a blanket that has a little nook perfect for a kitty to curl into. He also likes to climb into my daughter's closet and use her stacks of sweaters as a bed, or climb behind a pillow for a nap. He has lots of personality, is incredibly intelligent and simply gorgeous to look at. His soft fur is a pleasure to pet and I look forward to him finding a loving family that can offer him a forever home--he deserves it!! Don't miss out on this guy~ Call 480-628-xxxx for questions.
